Image QR Code Generator
An image QR code opens a picture the moment someone scans it: a photo, an artwork, a certificate, a greeting. A QR code cannot hold the picture itself, it holds a link. You upload the image once and we host it. The code holds a short qrforprint.com link, and that link opens a clean page that shows your photo full width. The page has no ads and sets no cookies.
Free forever while it gets scanned. Make it permanent once for $4.99.
- No “Made with qrforprint” line on the page
- A gallery of up to 10 photos behind one code
- Your own title and message on the page
- Swap the file later, the printed code keeps working
- Scan count, files up to 20 MB, and the print pack
- Never goes inactive. One payment, no subscription
A free code stays active as long as it is scanned at least once every 12 months.
The name goes into the PDF exactly as typed; the on-screen color is an approximation and print output may differ.
Save your brand colors once, reuse them on every code. Stored in this browser.

Create your QR code in three steps
- 01
Create a free account and choose the Photo tab, then upload your picture.
- 02
Style the code with your colors or add a logo in the center.
- 03
Download the PNG, SVG, PDF or EPS. Downloading saves the code to your account so the short link works.
Where people use it
Gifts and greetings
Print the code on a card. The person scans it and sees the photo you chose. A permanent code adds your own title and message above the photo.
Artists and galleries
Put a code beside the piece that opens detail shots or a larger view. A permanent code holds a gallery of up to 10 photos.
Product labels
Open the full size chart or diagram that a small label has no room for.
How an image QR code works
A QR code stores text, so an image QR code stores a link to your hosted picture. When you upload a photo here we resize it so the longest edge is at most 2000 pixels and convert it to WebP, which keeps it sharp on a phone and quick to load. Animated GIFs are kept as they are. The code points to a short link on qrforprint.com. That short link is what lets us count scans, let you swap the photo later, and remove content that breaks the rules.
Free and permanent photo codes
Free codes hold one file up to 5 MB and show a small “Made with qrforprint” line under your content. A free code stays active as long as it is scanned at least once every 12 months. For $4.99, paid once per code, the code becomes permanent: the line disappears, the inactivity rule no longer applies, you can swap the file later without reprinting, you see the scan count, files can be up to 20 MB, and the print pack is included. There is no subscription. A permanent photo code can also hold a gallery of up to 10 photos with your own title and message.

Frequently asked questions
Can a QR code contain an image directly?+
No. QR codes store text, so an image QR code stores a link to your hosted picture. Upload the image here and the code opens it.
What image formats can I upload?+
JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF. Free codes hold a file up to 5 MB and permanent codes up to 20 MB. SVG uploads are not accepted, convert vector artwork to PNG first.
Does the code expire?+
A free code stays active as long as it is scanned at least once every 12 months. A permanent code has no inactivity rule and no recurring fee.
Can I change the image after printing the code?+
On a free code you can replace the photo during the first 24 hours. After that, replacing it needs a permanent code, $4.99 once. The printed code stays the same.
Is the image public?+
The photo is served over HTTPS at an unlisted address. Anyone who scans the code or has the link can open it. Every page has a Report link, and content that breaks our terms is removed.
