Birthday Card Voice Message QR Code

A birthday voice message QR code puts your own voice inside a birthday card. You record the message here in the browser or upload a phone recording, and print the small code inside the card or on the envelope. When the birthday person points their camera at the code, a page opens in the browser and your voice plays. No app and no account on their side. This is how a family spread over three countries sings happy birthday from one card, and how a grandmother hears every grandchild in turn.

Put a birthday message inside a card in three steps

  1. 01

Press Record on this page, or use the voice recorder app on your phone. Say the name, say the wish, and keep it under a minute if you want it to feel like a card rather than a speech. iPhone and Android save M4A, and MP3 works too.

  2. 02

Create a free account, open the Audio tab and upload the recording. Name the code after the person. For $4.99 paid once, make the code permanent: the small qrforprint line disappears, you can write a title such as Happy 80th, Grandma above the player, and the code never goes inactive.

  3. 03

Download the code and print it inside the card, on a gift tag or on the envelope. Keep it at least 2 cm wide with a clear margin, and scan the printed card with your own phone before you post it.

Where people use it

Milestone birthdays: 18, 50, 80

For a big birthday, each child and grandchild records a short message. Every message gets its own code, printed next to that person's name on one large card, and the birthday person hears each voice in turn.

Family far away

A grandparent abroad records the wish in their own language. The card arrives on the day, and the voice plays as many times as the child wants to hear it.

A child's first card

A three year old cannot write yet but can say happy birthday. Record it, print the code on the card the child decorated, and the recording stays with the card for years.

What the birthday person hears

Scanning opens a plain page with a player and your recording. On a permanent code your title and a written message appear above the player. The page has no ads, sets no cookies and shows nothing from other people, so a birthday message stays a birthday message.

One voice or many voices

A free code plays one recording. A permanent code holds up to ten recordings behind the same code, each with its own name, so several relatives can each say something and the birthday person hears them in turn. One code per person, printed next to each name, still works. The 5 code pack, $22.99 paid once, makes five codes permanent in one payment.

How long the message stays online

A free code holds one file up to 5 MB, shows a small Made with qrforprint line under the player, and stays active as long as it is scanned at least once every 12 months. A permanent code, $4.99 paid once, has no inactivity rule and no recurring fee, holds a file up to 20 MB, and lets you replace the recording later without reprinting the card. Keep your own copy of the recording as well.

Frequently asked questions

Does the birthday person need an app or an account?+

No. The phone camera reads the code, the page opens in the browser and the built in player plays the message. Only you, the person who uploads the recording, need a free account.

Can I sing happy birthday instead of speaking?+

Yes. Anything your phone records works: a song, a spoken message, a child's laugh. The limit is by file size, not by minutes.

How long can the recording be?+

A free code holds a file up to 5 MB, which is several minutes of speech from a phone recorder. A permanent code holds up to 20 MB.

Can I change the message after the card is printed?+

On a permanent code, yes. You replace the recording from your account and the printed code stays the same, so the card does not need to be reprinted.

Who can listen to it?+

Anyone who scans the code or has the link. The page is not listed by search engines and we do not show it anywhere else on the site.

What does a birthday voice message QR code cost?+

Free to start, with the free limits above. $4.99 paid once makes one code permanent, and the 5 code pack is $22.99 paid once. There is no subscription and nothing to renew.
